Grace Prehung Door Dark Oak Wood Veneer Matte Silver Insert with Solid Pine Core

Door Type And Configuration

A prehung door model is one of the most practical options, as you can order it fully assembled. Not only can it arrive fully equipped with the necessary hardware, but you can also choose to have it completely pre-assembled. This way, you will not have to worry if the door will align with the frame properly. For those who prefer a classic swing door that simply needs to be fitted into a designated spot in the wall, this model is the perfect solution.

Material And Design

If you wish to upgrade your home with warmth and style, this would be the final touch that brings it all together. The door features a lovely dark oak finish, with matte silver inserts that lend an opulent, sophisticated touch to the overall look. These subtle, but effective matte silver details add a luxurious feel to the otherwise simplistic design.

Door Finish

One of the major pros of this door is that it arrives at your doorstep ready for installation and use. There is no need to worry about any additional finishing touches like paint or stain. The beautiful dark oak veneer highlights the natural wood grain and adds textures and the feel of solid wood to the finish.

Sound/Noise Reduction

Prehung doors with this construction block sound well due to their solid wood composition, which absorbs noise and reduces transfer. The integrated frame minimizes gaps and sound escape, making it suitable for rooms requiring better acoustic privacy and separation.

Core And Construction

The solid pine core, combined with the flush door construction, provides excellent sound reduction and energy efficiency. The quality MDF veneer and core construction ensure the door's durability, structural integrity, and reliable performance even after years of use.

FAQ

See All
A prehung door includes the door panel, a three-sided frame with jambs (left, right, and top header), pre-installed hinges connecting the panel to the frame, a pre-bored handle/knob hole, and the latch cutout. Doorknobs/levers, locksets, trims, and installation shims are not included.
To determine if you need a left- or right-hand prehung door, stand inside the doorway with your back pressed against the hinge side of the frame. If the door swings open to your left, it's a left-hand door. If the door swings open to your right, it's a right-hand door.
If your newly installed prehung door isn't latching or clicking as it should, there are likely some misalignment issues. First, check if any hinge screws are loose and tighten them. Next, make sure the strike plate is aligned. If the latch is missing the hole slightly, take a small metal file and widen the opening inside the metal strike plate.
To measure the width of the rough opening for prehung doors, place the tape between the side jack studs in the middle, top, and bottom. Measure the height from the subfloor to the header in the center, left, and right. Remember to always record the smallest measurements.
Unless your prehung door is sold and delivered prefinished, yes, you need to ensure it's sealed properly. Leaving wood or composite exposed at the top or bottom lets moisture soak into the door, causing it to swell and warp.
Prehung doors should be easy to install, but it all comes down to experience. An experienced carpenter will not take more than 2 hours to remove old trim, set the frame, shim, level, and nail in the new casing. A DIY beginner will need about 3 to 5 hours for these steps.
