Linda Prehung Door Sandy Oak Wood Veneer Glossy Silver Insert with Solid Pine Core

Door Type And Configuration

The prehung door is a complete, ready-to-install model that includes a door slab and a door frame. Thankfully, you have the option to have the door attached to the frame (hence the term ˜prehung'), and this means it will arrive at your doorstep fully assembled. By choosing a prehung door, you don't have to worry about installing the hinges properly or if the door will align correctly with the frame.

Material And Design

This model features an understated, warm sandy color that is accentuated by glossy silver accents. The bold, polished silver brings an additional dimension to the overall look and elevates it to a lustrous, high-end aesthetic.

Door Finish

The door arrives at your home prefinished, which means it's ready to be installed and used straight away. It features a natural-looking sandy veneer that provides a lovely texture and realistic feel of solid wood to the finish.

Sound/Noise Reduction

Prehung doors in this style block sound effectively due to their dense wood construction, which naturally reduces noise transfer. The pre-fitted frame minimizes gaps through which sound can escape, providing better acoustic separation in any room where noise control is important.

Core And Construction

The flush design, combined with a solid pine core, offers excellent sound and energy insulation and resistance to warping. The strong core construction and quality MDF veneer ensure the door maintains its structural integrity and durability even after constant use throughout the years.

FAQ

See All
A prehung door includes the door panel, a three-sided frame with jambs (left, right, and top header), pre-installed hinges connecting the panel to the frame, a pre-bored handle/knob hole, and the latch cutout. Doorknobs/levers, locksets, trims, and installation shims are not included.
To determine if you need a left- or right-hand prehung door, stand inside the doorway with your back pressed against the hinge side of the frame. If the door swings open to your left, it's a left-hand door. If the door swings open to your right, it's a right-hand door.
If your newly installed prehung door isn't latching or clicking as it should, there are likely some misalignment issues. First, check if any hinge screws are loose and tighten them. Next, make sure the strike plate is aligned. If the latch is missing the hole slightly, take a small metal file and widen the opening inside the metal strike plate.
To measure the width of the rough opening for prehung doors, place the tape between the side jack studs in the middle, top, and bottom. Measure the height from the subfloor to the header in the center, left, and right. Remember to always record the smallest measurements.
Unless your prehung door is sold and delivered prefinished, yes, you need to ensure it's sealed properly. Leaving wood or composite exposed at the top or bottom lets moisture soak into the door, causing it to swell and warp.
Prehung doors should be easy to install, but it all comes down to experience. An experienced carpenter will not take more than 2 hours to remove old trim, set the frame, shim, level, and nail in the new casing. A DIY beginner will need about 3 to 5 hours for these steps.
