Sharon Bypass Door Sandy Oak Wood Veneer Silver Stripe with Solid Pine Core

Door Type And Configuration

The bypass configuration uses two panels that glide along separate tracks, overlapping each other during operation. Without requiring swing clearance, it's an effective solution for compact areas or rooms where a hinged door would block walkways or furnishings. The sliding hardware system is included with purchase, while handles and pulls can be selected separately to complement your interior.

Material And Design

Sandy oak veneer covers each panel, showcasing pale, neutral tones with a simple grain patterns that add to that natural texture. A silver, aluminum stripe runs down each door, providing a sleek linear element that stands out.

Door Finish

The door ships prefinished, eliminating any need for staining or painting before installation. The sandy oak surface retains its natural grain texture and smooth feel, while the silver stripe maintains a reflective finish.

Sound/Noise Reduction

This bypass door minimizes noise transfer through its dense oak build, which naturally blocks sound waves. The tight-sealing track system prevents sound leakage between rooms, providing better acoustic privacy in spaces where quiet matters most.

Core And Construction

Thanks to the door's solid pine core construction, warping is prevented, keeping the door stable. This ensures the panels stay properly aligned on their tracks, delivering smooth, reliable operation even with frequent daily use.

FAQ

See All
Bypass doors include panels that slide past each other on parallel tracks. Because of this configuration, they provide only 50% access when there is a two-door system, and up to 66% access for a three-door system. This is because one panel always stands directly behind or in front of the other.
There are a couple of common problems that may cause a bypass door to come off track. There could be a buildup of various debris inside the top track, preventing the rollers from gliding smoothly. Over time, bottom rollers can wear out or become damaged, so they might need replacing. In case the track is bent or warped, the wheels will hit the damaged spot, and the panel will come off the track. If the track is too damaged, it will need to be replaced.
Bypass doors work best in spaces where floor space is limited, such as bedroom closets, pantries, laundry rooms, and utility areas located in narrow hallways. Because they slide along the wall rather than swinging outward, they're a practical solution wherever a traditional hinged door would be awkward or impractical.
To measure for bypass doors, start with the width: measure horizontally across the opening at the top, middle, and bottom. Then measure the height from the finished floor to the header at the center, left, and right. Always record the smallest measurements.
To remove a bypass door from its track, start by lifting the door panel straight up into the top track until it clears the bottom guide. Then angle the bottom of the panel toward you and lower it out of the top track. For doors with a bottom roller system, you may need to unscrew the floor track guide first to free the panel. Because the panels overlap, you must always remove the front door first.
Use a vacuum cleaner or a brush to remove debris from the top and lower tracks. Then wipe the tracks clean with a microfiber cloth dampened with alcohol or degreaser. To lubricate the wheels, use dry silicone spray or PTFE lube; dry lubricants reduce friction without leaving wet residue. After applying the lube, slide the doors back and forth a couple of times to distribute it.
