Door Type And Configuration

One of the best benefits of prehung doors is that they can arrive at your doorstep fully assembled, meaning there is no need to worry if the door will properly fit the frame or if you'll manage to install the hinges easily. Regardless of whether it's there to complete a room in a new residence or replace a damaged frame and door, all that is required is to fit the pre-constructed door into its designated place in the wall.

Material And Design

If you are looking for a traditional swing door that can elevate the look of your home, this would be it. The warm, dark oak, combined with compelling glossy gold details, effectively elevates your interior design to a rich, luxurious look.

Door Finish

As the door is sold and delivered prefinished, there is no need to worry about additional finishing touches; only a simple installation is required, and it's ready to be used. The finish is a beautiful, natural-looking dark oak that provides a cozy vibe inside the home. The glossy gold accents add an additional texture and character to the final look.

Sound/Noise Reduction

Prehung doors with this build provide effective sound reduction due to their solid wood composition, which naturally blocks noise transfer. The integrated frame ensures a snug seal that limits sound escape, ideal for rooms where controlling noise matters.

Core And Construction

One of the many advantages this model can offer is excellent noise and energy reduction thanks to its flush design and high-quality construction. The door is constructed of a solid pine core that is covered with MDF veneer, and this fusion offers a firm structure, integrity, and durability.

FAQ

See All
A prehung door includes the door panel, a three-sided frame with jambs (left, right, and top header), pre-installed hinges connecting the panel to the frame, a pre-bored handle/knob hole, and the latch cutout. Doorknobs/levers, locksets, trims, and installation shims are not included.
To determine if you need a left- or right-hand prehung door, stand inside the doorway with your back pressed against the hinge side of the frame. If the door swings open to your left, it's a left-hand door. If the door swings open to your right, it's a right-hand door.
If your newly installed prehung door isn't latching or clicking as it should, there are likely some misalignment issues. First, check if any hinge screws are loose and tighten them. Next, make sure the strike plate is aligned. If the latch is missing the hole slightly, take a small metal file and widen the opening inside the metal strike plate.
To measure the width of the rough opening for prehung doors, place the tape between the side jack studs in the middle, top, and bottom. Measure the height from the subfloor to the header in the center, left, and right. Remember to always record the smallest measurements.
Unless your prehung door is sold and delivered prefinished, yes, you need to ensure it's sealed properly. Leaving wood or composite exposed at the top or bottom lets moisture soak into the door, causing it to swell and warp.
Prehung doors should be easy to install, but it all comes down to experience. An experienced carpenter will not take more than 2 hours to remove old trim, set the frame, shim, level, and nail in the new casing. A DIY beginner will need about 3 to 5 hours for these steps.
